Hmong communities often face challenges in managing chronic diseases. A study on Hmong related health issues reveals that Hmong people are less likely to seek treatment compared to other Asian American groups, and when they do, the disease may be at a later stage [1]. This can lead to poorer health outcomes. But it doesn't have to be this way!
Our mission is to bridge this gap and expand health access for minority communities. We offer affordable, transparent, and trustworthy sports medicine services. Our team includes an Athletic Trainer fluent in Hmong, English, and medical terminology, ensuring clear communication and culturally competent care. Our expert Athletic Trainer specializes in helping you recover from injuries, improve mobility, and prevent future musculoskeletal issues. Whether you're a weekend warrior, a competitive athlete, or simply looking to stay active and pain-free, we create customized treatment plans to fit your unique needs and goals.
I'm Kou Yang, a Certified Athletic Trainer with a passion for helping people move and feel their best. I bring five years of experience in the Sports Medicine field, dedicated to providing comprehensive care for athletes and active individuals. My journey began at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where I served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the UNC Men's Soccer and UNC Women's Rowing teams. In this fast-paced environment, I thrived, providing timely and efficient musculoskeletal injury evaluation and treatment to student-athletes. But my passion extends beyond the clinical setting. I'm also a firm believer in the power of preventative care and rehabilitation. This is reflected in my diverse research background, which includes exploring the use of Virtual Reality in sports and concussion evaluation methods, and assisting in investigating lower extremity injuries and running mechanics within the military population at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. This blend of clinical experience and research has instilled in me a deep understanding of the impact direct medical care can have on individuals. I'm driven by a desire to empower my community by leveraging my skills and knowledge to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.
It all starts by scheduling a FREE 15-min consultation between you and a provider. This clears the way to seeing if our musculoskeletal focused rehab will benefit you or if your issue may require a another medical professional referral.
Next, if your provider deems it appropriate and beneficial. You will schedule either a virtual or in-person session where our providers evaluate your issue and provide musculoskeletal focused rehab plan.
The last step? Your provider will communicate with you routinely and see if a follow up rehab session or virtual session is appropriate based on how your clinical symptoms improve.
